What is a demoicracy?

A democracy is a form of government where the people govern themselves. There are two different forms of democracy; a (direct)pure or indirect(representative) democracy. For example the United States is a Democracy or more specifically a Representative Democracy. This is where we vote for our representatives that will represent us in our government. Therefore the people do not handle the affairs of the government themselves but vote in representatives that hold their same ideas and values into government to be their voice in governmental issues. In a Indirect or Pure democracy all of the people must vote and have their voice in government. This type is only found in small governmental bodies as it would be illogical in the size of democracies we see today i.e., The United States.
