Ah SHOT GUN MEDICINE. This seems to be the new trend with younger doctors. The want more and more office visits, which equates to more money in their pockets. I think ethics classes are in order here.
What an ethical doctors office does, is fill the prescription and call you and ask you to make an appointment in the next 30 days. This way you are not put at risk.
In my case, the doc pulled this on a Friday at 4 pm with no way logistically for me to make an office visit, and they didn't fill my meds, not even a couple of pills. I am going w/o my meds this weekend, and have made an appointment at a different docs office, because I find this shotgun medicine abhorrent.
No, I've had it happen to me before, I contacted my Dr. and they gave me the answer I am giving you, the PHARMACIST may withhold it for MANY reasons, Rx pad seems falsified, doctor and DEA # new or unknown by state pharmacies, Rx seems written by someone other than a doctor or CNA. There are too many reasons to list actually, but yes it is legal for a PHARMACIST to withhold a Rx, not the pharmacy itself! Hope this helps. Anybody can comment and tell me I'm wrong, but I get controlled substances every 10, 15, and 30 days, 2 Pain relievers, round the clock and breakthrough, and an unchanged medication, (will not disclose types of medications, because they are very powerful, and the junkies on here would ask me to sell them to them, but I will say they are the STRONGEST AVAILABLE as a Rx). Anyways back to what I was saying I am a disabled Vet of OIF/OEF, and I also have major mental issues, so I receive uncontrolled substances also, ie: antidepressants, anti psychotics, and lots of antibiotics due to an over sized spleen and liver from all the burning garbage in Iraq. So if anyone wants to prove my answer wrong have at it. I receive 12 Rx's a month due to my physical and mental illnesses, entire spine is going out from C1 down to S4 with bulging discs, ruptured discs, and degenerative joint and disc disease in the Cervical spine and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury)! But the VA gave me 80% 6 months after applying for Major Depressive Disorder with PTSD and TBI, DJ/DD (Degenerative Joint/Disc Disease) of the Cervical spine, tinnitus (ringing of the ears) and bilateral shoulder injury, will be increased to 100% soon hopefully for more evidence of liver and spleen, back, and unavailability to work, per Pain Dr.s request. sorry for the spiel about my life, just gotta vent when u live alone and cant do anything but get on the computer in bed.
If it is clinically indicated, a doctor will write a prescription for a wheelchair.
A diet prescription is a prescription your doctor gives you to give to a pharmacy to get medicine

Hi there, It is wise to ask your doctor for a prescription for as long as you are going away for. It is unlikely you will be able to get a UK prescription drawn from Aus, but if you see an Australian doctor and show the prescription, he will probably write you out a script for it straight away.
