No! In fact, the sooner you get her spayed, the better. The ideal is to prevent pregnancy, and she might not be pregnant yet. Even if she is, she can be spayed at any time but the earlier the better. Spaying a female dog that has become pregnant is usually more expensive. The quicker you have it done, the less harmful to the dog and your pocket book. I would also make sure that what ever dog mated with her is neutered! We have enough unwanted animals in this country. Please don't stall and allow her to become pregnant or advance in pregnancy and have puppies. If you think she's pregnant and have a problem ending the pregnancy on "moral" grounds, consider the morality of what will happen if she has puppies. It will be difficult to find sincerely good homes for all of them. To do a reasonable job, you should screen each person who wants a puppy, asking how long the dog will be alone each day, whether it will live inside or outside, calling their veterinarian for reference, and checking their home first. Not everyone is the caring pet owner they may seem when they are cuddling a puppy. Often, when people take puppies (especially free ones), they grow tired of them within a year. Partly it's because they're no longer "cute" and "puppy-like" once they are beyond about 12 weeks old, and partly because they've had time to develop behavioral issues if they're not adequately trained. The shelters are full of unwanted dogs that are 1 to 2 years old. If, by some miracle, you are able to find people who will keep each of the pups for life, consider that those homes could have rescued the same number of pups from your local shelter or rescue. Either way, puppies will suffer, and that is not moral.
Yes. You and the dog will be healthier (unproven) and happier (no documented change in pet happiness), and you won't add to the millions of unwanted pets that get euthanized every year.

Counter argument against spaying a dog: Spaying is done more for human convenience than animal welfare. Responsible pet guardians will realize that when their dog gets hurt it is entirely their fault for not giving them proper attention, restraints, care, etc. Instead of be bothered by the extra effort for our supposed friends, we mutilate them by removing organs and peices that they are born with; all for our convenience.

Healthier:
Female dogs are at a significantly decreased risk of mammary cancer if they are spayed.
Happier:
Male dogs are far less likely to be involved in an attack on a human or other animal if neutered.
Not if it was done correctly. It's possible the spaying operation could have been botched, leaving the dog still fertile. However, in dogs, spaying generally is done by removing both the ovaries and the uterus... it would have to be pretty badly botched to leave the dog still capable of breeding!
no it isn't because they can still learn and im doing it to my dog now and it works after about 1 month
Spayed females and neutered males cannot reproduce.
None, get it spayed. Sorry to be harsh but there are already enough mutts without people adding to it.
if you get a girl dog that is not spayed and they are both puppies the male will start wanting to breed immediately.
no
To get a dog spayed means to take it to the vet, I think it's surgery or something or maybe an injection I seriously don't know, but after the dog gets spayed it is unable to breed. It is a surgery.
The female should be spayed (fixed) at about 6 months. Some believe that she should have a litter before being spayed, but the only thing that does is add more unwanted dogs to the dog pound.
In a male dog, he has been neutered i.e. he's been castrated For a female, she has been spayed i.e. ovaries and uterus removed. They can no longer breed.
The question is unclear. 1) a dog that's spayed can't get pregnant. 2) spaying a dog that is already pregnant would also mean performing an abortion. Don't think a veterinarian would like that much unless very early in the pregnancy
I suggest that your dog has been spayed. If your dog has been spayed she will not go into heat.
Spaying is the removal of the ovaries from a female dog. No dog that is spayed can have puppies. No female dog can have puppies with another female dog. If you are asking about a male dog, the correct term is neutered, not spayed.
If you're entering a show in North America (under AKC or CKC standards), your dog needs to be a recognized purebreed. It also cannot be neutered or spayed.
Conformation shows are designed as a way for responsible breeders to showcase their dogs and display their breeding stock. The goal is to show other breeders their dogs in hopes that they will find a good potential pairing they can breed to produce quality puppies. Bringing a spayed or neutered dog to such an event would be considered pointless, since they cannot breed.
