Not without a civil release for good conduct from a judge......
I would shoot you on sight and ask questions later!
You will need to consult with a lawyer and have a copy of New York state's hunting regulations with you for a correct and legal answer.
no they can not. I am trying to get my brothers hunting rights restored. you have to petition the circuit court to have rights restored... .. good luck
If you mean hunting with a firearm, a convicted felon loses the right to possess a firearm. The felon MAY petition the Governor for restoration of rights, but it is not an automatic process.
Under US FEDERAL law, yes, so long as it uses flint or percussion caps (a felon may not possess AMMUNITION, which includes 209 shotgun primers). HOWEVER, different states have different laws- in several states, a felon may not possess a muzzleloader- you need to check the laws in YOUR state (which State you did not share with us)
Not legally. In the U.S. felons cannot legally own or possess guns.
Possibly. Most license vendors do not have the facility to check a background, but a hunting license would not allow a felon to possess a firearm. They could/would still be arrested for that offense and obtaining a hunting license would actually show intent.
As said below- a felon may not possess a firearm. In SOME states they may possess a muzzleloading firearm, or a bow. Felons are banned from possessing firearms in ALL states by Federal law. Violate that, and you will have 10 years to serve in a Federal prison. Check with parole staff for limitations in YOUR state.
Absolutely not. A felon may not purchase, possess, or have access to firearms.
A convicted felon may not purchase, possess, or be allowed access to firearms. That's federal law, and applies to the whole of the United States.
Felons can hunt- they cannot use or possess firearms. In SOME states (not all) they may possess, and hunt with muzzleloading firearms, or use a bow. But they may not have uncontrolled access to firearms. (Cannot be left alone with them unless they are locked up)
No. A convicted felon may not purchase, possess, or be granted access to firearms. Period. Not just in New York, either - that's a federal law.
Generally speaking no felon (regardless of their age) is allowed to possess a firearm.
Being pardoned does not allow a felon to possess a firearm. Only an overturning of the conviction can do that.
