Yes, you can have certain felonies *sort of* expunged from your record. As far as I know it is basically having your felony dropped to a misdemeanor. You have to be off probation/parole, have your fines and restitution paid completely, and then you usually have to pay a fee and send in a form to have your case considered. In some states you can do that repeatedly until you are satisfied that they have changed it, or never will. The procedure varies from state to state, so I would recommend consulting an attorney, or the court for more information. In the meantime I would like to recommend this: There is a new and powerful website that primarily welcomes felons and and their families. http://www.myfelon.com There you will find support from good people who have made mistakes in their lives, and possibly get some of your questions answered there from people who have been there. There is a forum, blogs, social profiles, clubs, and much, much more. They are even working on a database of "felon-friendly" employers and companies

This is a great site where felons and family members can get together and discuss issues such as finding jobs and new legislation affecting felons. Or, just meet new people with similar interests and have some fun with people who will not judge.

I personally am a member and post my blog there frequently. The amount of support there has been wonderful. This is the 'missing link' that felons have been needing. We have unique roadblocks that we have to overcome, and we all need help, advice, and support. It is also very nice to be able to talk to people who understand. I hope to see you and anyone else in the same situation there!

Paste the link into your browser window and come visit (and hopefully join). I highly recommend it. Answer No. Felony convictions remain a permanent part of the person's criminal record. Some misdemeanors convictions can be removed depending upon the indivdual circumstances. DONT LISTEN TO THESE IDIOTS WHO POST STUFF THEY HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT.....YES YOU CAN HAVE CERTAIN FELONIES EXPUNGED

Expungements vary by state and are normally for non-violent, non registrable sex offenses.

NOTE: There are no federal expungements -- only Presidential pardons, although there is a Federal Expungement bill - H.R.5492, Fresh Start Act of 2010.
