I have to put gas in my car a little at a time. It will act as if it is full and spit gas out. sounds like a blockage in fuel tank vent system. check ford dealer for no listed recall items its free someone might have removed fuel tank for a fuel pump and pinched the vent for tank. when putting tank back g
The fuel pump is inside of the tank. Disconnect the filler line, vent line, and fuel line. Put a jack under the tank, and unbolt the tank. Lower the tank, and the pump has an access plate on top of the tank.
The fuel tank vent is blocked, pinched off or disconnected.
Check the vent tube for the fuel tank. If it is pinched it will cause that condition. Not knowing what vehicle you have, some vent tubes are located inside the filler neck and not visible unless you remove the filler neck from the tank.
If it is a 2004 or later model year you have a failed vent valve on the top of the fuel tank. It is part of the tank.
/// holes in vent/filler tube allowing moisture in that freezes in cold weather not allowing you to fill tank. it keeps spitting back out.
The fuel tank vent or the filler tube is blocked.
in the fuel tank
It depends on what kind of fuel is supposed to be in the tank.
Start by checking the fuel tank vent for a blockage. There will be a line that runs paralell to the fuel tank inlet tube or hose.If it's not golgged or kinked then pull the fuel tank and check for blockage in the tank inlet.you might also try taking the fuel cap off and pushing a small hose down into the inlet all the way in to the tank. try this first...
20 gallon tank even if you can only put in 15 gallon. remove vent tube and cut down for 5 more gallons.
If it's not on the left lower side of the fuel tank it is inside the fuel tank............They switched and put them in the tank with the pump
