Most all dogs shed. A lot of breeders are claiming that the Labradoodle does not shed. That is a lot of BS and not true. All dogs shed, they have to as the coat gets thicker in the winter time and thinner in the summer time. The fur has to be replaced too. The only dog I can think of that would not shed is the Chinese Crested as it has no hair :0). Just brush your dog daily outside and keep his or her coat clean.

What is the frequency of shedding?

Dogs do most of their shedding twice per year. As weather warms up they shed their winter coats in order to have a more comfortable lighter coat. When the weather begins to cool again, they shed their summer coat and get their winter coat.

Why has your dog stopped shedding?

When using a cat de-shedding tool is the cat's undercoat permanently removed or will it grow back?

Cats naturally shed their coats twice a year, both the top coat and the undercoat. When you are able to use a de-shedding tool, the undercoat that you are removing shed hairs from is already growing back in with a new coat.

Dose a golden reatriver shed more or a chocolate lab?

A Golden Retriever will shed more than a Chocolate Labrador Retriever. This is because they have thicker coat that requires more care/maintenance, where else the Chocolate Lab's conveniently short coat lowers the total amount of shedding it produces significantly. However, in the case of an owner shaving the coat of their Golden Retriever to a shorter length, the amount of shedding would be about equal to that of a Chocolate Lab.

Do pomerainians shed?

Pomeranians do shed quite a bit. They are a Spitz type dog and have a lot of hair. Aside from regular day to day shedding they also blow (or shed all their undercoat). They need daily brushing to keep their coat from getting matted as well.

Does a Basenji shed a lot?

All dogs shed- just different amounts. The Basenji has a smooth/short coat and don't relatively shed much. Depending on the dog it is mixed with, it could have a high amount of shedding or a low amount.

Is a Cavapoo a shedding or non-shedding animal?

It really depends on each individual Cavapoo, as some will inherit the Poodle's non-shedding coat while others will inherit the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel's coat, which sheds heavily. ALL DOGS SHED! If a hair grows, it will die and fall out. Most dogs have an undercoat that sheds out regularly. However, some dogs have "hair" vs "fur" and do not shed nearly as much. Their coats are more like human hair. A good rule of thumb, the shorter the hair, the shorter the hair folical lifecycle, the more the dog will shed.
