A loose timing chain can only be repaired by replacing the timing chain .
A loose timing belt means the belt is worn out or the tensioner is worn out. Replace worn parts.
worn or loose timing belt?
Loose timing chain or belt.
This vehicle does not come w/ timing belt. It has a timing CHAIN. No known problems. They can get loose when engine reaches very high mileage.
Yes. They all have timing belts in them. If you loose your timing belt, you will loose your engine.
Check all belts and anything that was removed while changing the timing belt, to make sure that nothing was damaged. If everything is ok, then the timing belt may be loose.
i had a 106 and the timing belt came loose , it came off and wrecked the timing of the engine causing it to destroy its self . i presume it will be the same effect if it did snap .
my best opinion is the timing belt has become loose after re doing the timing so many times. this means a new timing belt is needed
yes you do have to loosen the nut on the tensioner, or else u wont have ennough slack in the belt to put it on, once it is in place then make shure u tighten the bolt again
If you checked the belt and you think it is loose ,change it. It has a tensioner built in that sets the tension when the belt is installed.
The timing belt may worn out or the adjustment is loose.
Improper tension, bent, loose, misaligned pulley.
Certainly, it can be fixed. It won't be cheap.. especially not on a Euro car.
