it can work! but you need exchange de oil pan, oil pump, timing gear, and timing belt cover! also the ditribuitor, I did already on my 97 Geo , using a 95 motor and it work perfect! sounds complicate but is real ease!
that must be some metro to have a big block
The 1999 Chevy Geo Metro 1.0 liter engine PCV valve can be found on top of the engine. The PCV valve will be behind the air cleaner housing.
Maybe on front bottom of engine behind radiator Follow + battery cable
It is behind the throttle body on air filter housing. At 2 o'clock of the air filter housing,
Looking at the front of the engine, it is on the right hand side of the engine, just below the o2 sensor. It will have two tubes going into it.
One O2 sensor is on the manifold after the first catalytic converter and the other O2 is downstream behind the second catalytic converter (middle of vehicle body underneath).
I have a 1998 Metro with the 1.3l and the Camshaft Position Sensor is located on the bottom of the oil pan.
lower right (passenger) side in front of the engine ( tensioner is right below & behind it)..
Switching '94 with '98I have a '94 and a '98 and tried to switch the engines but the '94 doesn't have a crankshaft position sensor. This should be the same with a '93 too. The engine definitely won't run without it. The engines are the same, but the oil pump, oil pan, and the cam timing components are different. The oil pump is designed to hold the crank position sensor and is larger than the early oil pump, so you will have to replace the oil pump and pan. Along with the pump, you will also need to exchange upper and lower cam gears, crank trigger (the finned metal wheel that slides on behind the crankshaft gear), idler, timing belt, and timing belt cover.
Look at one of the 3-4 big fuses under the hood, drivers side by the battery.
