Yes, I believe it will, Based on the NYS inspection site. The mechanic will advise you that the light is on. It is not included in the OBD II diagnostics which is sent to DMV. Check out the site and judge for yourself, or ask a mechanic you trust.

A NYS Inspection sticker expires on the last day of the month it was punched during the year indicated on the sticker. If the sticker says "2011" and the month "June" is punched, the vehicle needs to be re-inspected on or before June 30, 2011.
