Yes they can. They can't really be sure just how much your lip is going to swell so it's a simple mishap. Just go back to them and tell them that it's too short. They shouldn't charge you for new jewelery unless you want to keep the short one.

Go to your piercer ASAP. Sounds like your jewelry is too small/tight. Your piercer will be able to put in a longer piece of jewelry if it isn't really bad yet.
Go to your piercer. Don't try to shove any jewelry in there. Depending on your relationship with your piercer, they may do it a a discount or for free :D
The first person who answered this is completely wrong. Using paper clips as jewelry is a horrible idea. You can't truly sanitize something unless you autoclave it. Alcohol doesn't really do you any good. If you got your nipples pierced by a professional go to them to get good quality jewelry. Even if you did them yourself, still go to get new jewelry from a legit piercer. Green discharge is definitely a sign of infection. Whatever you do, don't remove the jewelry! Removing the jewelry will trap the infection and possibly lead to the formation of an abscess. When you go to a piercer to get jewlery, they can tell you what to do depending on how bad the infection is. Until you visit them, use sea salt soaks to clean it. Your piercer will probably tell you to visit a doctor. That would be a really good idea bc you can use antibiotics to help with the infection. Just go to a piercer ASAP to get better jewelry and visit a doctor soon to!
The latter: jewelry. This is what most use. The former is not wrong, though.
definitely. Rejection can be caused by the piercer not placing the jewelry deep enough, improper aftercare or by wearing jewelry that is too heavy in the piercing.
It may be a reaction to the metal, rejection, inflammation from the wrong size or type of jewelry. Go see your piercer so that they can find out for you.
Well...the piercer performing the procedure will be using a sterile needle coupled with a sterilized piece of accomodating jewelry, so the question is needless.
No. If the jewelry is bothering you, go to your piercer to change it. Everything is sterilized there so its fine.
Do you mean that the skin had healed around the jewelry? If thats it, go to your piercer to have it removed.
