Common Black(Rattus Rattus) or Brown(Rattus norvegicus)rat, not really.

Now the BIG rats: we have Greater Cane Rat (Thryonomys swinderianus) down here. Biggest I've encountered was 19" body length(not tail!) , 22lb weight.
