Short barreled shotgun is actually a legal term- it means a shotgun that has barrels less than 18 inches, or an overall length of less than 26". To my knowledge, H&A did NOT make a short barreled shotgun. Information is thin- they went out of business about 1914-1916, but all listings I have seen are for 28 inch barrels.

You can own a short barrelled shotgun anywhere. The question is, do you have a license for an AOW (any other weapon) or a Class 3 license. That is the only way to own a short barrelled shotgun. To be termed a short barrelled shotgun, the barrel length has to be less than 18 inches when measured from the chamber (on a closed bolt) to the end of the muzzle. A short barreled shotgun is not necessarily "more lethal" than a long barreled shotgun. However, it is more readily concealable, and has lost most of its usefulness as a sporting (hunting) weapon.
About $900 apparently. If you're in the UK it is actually an illegal shotgun and will need to be on a firearms certificate as the barrel is to short.
yes, if a shotgun can kill someone, then a sawed one can too because they are more deadly
