Children were expected to arrive to school, on time. It's only been in the last 30 years that these expectations have changed, in part because of school-busing and school liability issues!

if you live just round the corner then drive, but it is also a matter of how deep the snow is if its 8 inches do let them walk to school they will get soaked, and it will be quite dangerous driving, so in that case stay at home.
If the snow is more of ice, dont walk either you will slip and hurt your self! but it is also dangerous to drive.
You have to decide for your self if you want your children to go to school in the snow.
if you live far away from the school i would reccemend not to because if the snow gets any deeper you will stuglle to pick them up on time!
but if your determined for your children to go to school even if it is snowing they can where they wellies and water proofs and changed when they get to school.
but some schools close if there is heavy snow because people will have trouble coming to school!

If there is some snow, then yes within reason. If the snow blocks roads or cuts the power, then no.

∙ 11y agoThere is no reason to close schools for snow unless driving conditions are unsafe for students to get to school or become unsafe for the students to get home. Any day missed because of weather has to be made up at the end of the year, so it is best to stay in the routine if at all possible to avoid that.

∙ 13y agoNo. You could spread the cold (or whatever sickness you have) to your classmates and teachers. Plus, for me, it would do me some good to stay at home and catch up on homework/shows/junk food:) Or if its been a stressful week at school because of friendship problems or whatever.
