Some snakes certainly can. Most poisonous snakes could, for example, and some of the larger constrictors could easily do so also (small constrictors might be able to do so if they were lucky, but for the smallest species the cat's a bigger danger to them than they are to the cat).

If it's a big snake (something like an adult Burmese python, Anaconda or Reticulated python) - then yes !

of course they can!

dogs come in such a varieties of sizes that there will be a lot snake capable to swallow a dog.

a full grown reticulated python can reach 20ft and swallow dogs in size of a German shepherd without any problem even bigger dogs such as great danes and kangals should be no problem!

Yes, snakes are not likely to harm animals - and/or people - but they will attack if they feel diturbed or threatened.
