yes transmissions interchange yup yes i took the 305 out of my preasaine and put a 350 in and used the same transmission and the 305 no problem, this summer i took a 230 in-line 6-cylinder engine out of a 65 chevelle, and dropped a 400 small-block in, perfect! The transmission bolt pattern is the same between all older chev engines rwd (Pont ,Buick , and olds have their very own bolt pattern) The main thing you have to watch for is your torque convertor stall , you may find the wrong stall may affect performance and drivability.
Who said it won't ? It will fit right in there with NO problems
If you are asking if you can substitute a 350 for a 305, the answer is generally yes.
yes it will
No. The bore size is different between a 305 and 350. The 350 bore size is larger.
depends on engine if 305 you can fit a 200r4 or 700r4(recommended) 350 will fit the 4L60E most of tha caprices with the 350 are electronicly shifted...
Yes. Its a direct bolt in.
The cams interchange.
YES, That is a direct swop.
What is the engine in the Caprice? In the Suburban? If they are a 305/350 then they can be interchanged. I have a 1985 Caprice Classic with a 305 and the tranny came out of a 1987 Suburban. It depends on the engine.
305 is the same distributor as a 350 will even fit some big block chevy's.
Yes, but the exhaust Y pipe from the 305 may not fit the 350.
If it's for a 305 it's a Chevy and will interchange with a 350. If it's an Olds, it won't.
yes it fit alot of Chevy engines including all small blocks and big blocks to same bolt pattern
No it will not. 2.8 and 4.3 have different bolt patterns, however 305(5.0) and 350(5.7) share the pattern with 4.3.
