NO. the turtles shell is attached to its body it serves as its backbone if the shell break sthe back bone is broken and can no longer suvive
Actually, it depends on where the break is and how severe! I just rescued a turtle that has 2 fractures in the lower part of his shell being hit by a car, and is alive and active. The fractures are bad to the point where we think we see her spine. Search Wild life rescue or Turtle rescue in New Jersey online. Call and get some advice if you have an injured turtle on our hands.
Yes. The shell is a part of its backbone, and a small hole or portion missing would not harm the turtle at all.
It will cause the turtle agony, if you mean to make a hole in your turtle (it has happened, sadly enough). The turtle will probably survive, though.
Yes. For many turtles, the backbone is fused with the shell also there ribs are part if there shells that's why you should never tap a turtles shell.
turtles die because they are hunted for their shells. also what many people don't know is that the spine of a turtle and the ribs are part of their shell. so when you remove the shell you remove part of the turtle important bones. though this is a very large reason for the deteriorating amount of live turtles in the world, turtles CAN NOT die of old age but die of injury and infecitons/diseases.
A turtles shell can turn soft if it is not getting the adequate vitamin D and is getting sick. Turtles should have a UV light in their living environment or should the turtle should be getting a lot of sunlight daily.
A turtles shell is built into bone structure. Parts of the backbone and the ribs, among other bones, make up the inner structure of the shell. This means that it cannot get out of its shell, as the shell is not separate from the body.
yea
No. The turtle is connected to its shell just like you're connected to your skin. Can you live without your skin? Nope. i can! xD ha jk
Yes Turtles do have an exoskeleton, it is called a shell. Without the shell the turtle would just be soft and in danger. :)
Why would you want to paint a turtle's shell anyway - unless it's for identification. A more sensible procedure would be micro-chipping ! It's permanent and doesn't wash off ! Anyway - to answer the question - so long as you use lead-free & solvent-free paint it shouldn't harm the turtle.
in a shell hope this make you die and your mom happy
Their shell theoretically turns into a pressure cooker. They have a heat stroke and die.
yes turtles do have a bottom shell

Turtle cells. See "genetics". If you mean prior to turtles, it was a reptile without a shell, or just a tiny one.
A terrapin has a shell because it is a turtle, of course. There are 4kinds of turtles: aquatic turtles, land turtles, terrapins, and sea turtles. All turtles have shells.
