What kind of fines or what kind of offenses? If they are traffic cases - anything more serious than parking tickets and your drivers permit is probably suspended.

Is there a statute of limimations for an unpaid DUI from Oregon to stay on one's California record?

Not sure for oregon, but normally unpaid tickets do not have a statute of limitations. An unpaid fine can result in a warrant for your arrest in most instances, but sometimes the warrant is only for ajoining counties from which the citation was issued. Your best bet is to just pay the ticket to avoid problems further down the road. If you did the violation, just pay the repercussions

Is it legal to send a ticket in the mail after 17 months?

It would be wise to call the Clerk of the Court or the Violations Bureau in the jurisdiction that issued the ticket to check. My adivce is to DO SO A.S.A.P., because, if it was a 'moving' violation, it is more than likely that there is an outstanding warrant in the system for your arrest for unpaid traffic fines.

If a certain amount of time passes do you still have to pay your fines?

While a fine is generally a class C misdemeanor and has a statue of limitations, the warrant issued by the court for failure to appear or for non payment does not carry the same limitation. I suggest that if you have an outstanding and unpaid ticket that you contact the Court and get it taken care of.

What are statute of limitation laws in wash state for two unpaid traffic tickets with warrants out?

None. You have been convicted and a warrant issued for contempt or failure to pay fines. Those warrants will last until they are served or cleared by an act of the court. You will also find that you will not be able to renew your license until the matter is resolved.

Usually in Texas they suspend your license and send the fines to a collection agency. There is no difference in the warrants. If you are stopped with a suspended license you will usually go to jail.

Is there a statute of limitation for old class C felony fines that are unpaid?

There typically isn't going to be one. You were found guilty and charged, the court ordered you to pay and you haven't. They could issue a bench warrant.

Can a bench warrant be issued for person with judgment?

A bench warrant can be issued for a person with a judgment if they fail to comply with the terms of the judgment, such as failing to pay fines or appear in court as required. The bench warrant allows law enforcement to arrest the person and bring them before the court to address the violation.
