Yes. I don't know the processes behind as to WHY it impairs your hearing but I'm drunk right now and I can't hear much. So YES Yes it does mess with your hearing. I do know that when people drink, even a little too much alcohol, many times they begin to talk louder, and louder as they drink more. Also, I don't know if it's just because by then lots of people are talking loud and laughing loud, but often you have to repeat yourself to people who are drinking, or over drinking. This could be that the alcohol has made them easily distractred, and unfocused, but it does seem to be that the alcohol does cause a ringing in the ears or buzzing, hence the term "catching a buzz , etc. I have thought that some medications made my ears feel stuffy, or as if they needed to be popped (to releive a changing pressure). Alcohol has done the same in the past, making you feel slightly under water. I don't drink anymore, one of my wiser decisions. There is nothing wrong with drinking alcohol, as long as you control the booze, instead of it running your life.
