if you're on Birth Control and you're taking amoxicillin and you have unprotected sex you can get pregnant, because amoxicillin and many other antibiotics can decrease the affectiveness of birth control by half. So if you are on birth control, and you are taking amoxicillin, and you had unprotected sex you could be pregnant. Otherwise you're period could just be late because you are getting over an illness or you're body is fighting an infection.

∙ 16y agoAmoxicillin should not mess up your cycle, but the infection it is treating may, and if you are taking an oral contraceptive it may stop it being fully effective. Yes it can because antibiotics put the Ph levels out in the body. Antibiotics also kill good bacteria inside the body. Eat cultured yogurt while on antibiotics (checked this out with my own doctor) and it helps maintain the Ph levels and also Acidophilus is a good thing to take (you can get it at a drug store or health food in capsule or liquid form) and take it every day. It builds up the good bacteria. So yes to your question. It has interfered with your periods and don't worry about it.
