The compressor clutch does not need to be shimmed. The outside disc is pressed on until the proper air gap is achieved. If it is pressed on to far it has to be pulled off and reinstalled.
Was unit evacuated before recharge after compressor replacement?
It is possible to replace the air conditioner clutch without replacing the entire compressor if you can find somewhere that sells just the clutch assembly and can get the appropriate tool to remove the pulley to get to the clutch. Try buying a repair manual and looking in there.
Under the hood in the aux relay box number 1, it will be marked C1008 and its the larger of the two relays on the left side of the box........
Check the low side pressure switch, the pigtail, the compressor clutch itself and then check to see if you still have an air gap between the hub and the clutch when the system is turned off.........
i have 230xxx on my 2002 Saturn Vue and i never replaced the clutch
check the fuse, then the relay and wiring. If the pulley clutch is getting power, then you may need a new clutch or compressor.
Well, the question is a bit vague. Is the flywheel to the compressor clutch turning? Does the compressor clutch engage? What exactly is it doing? There are several possibilities here.. a bad low pressure sensor, a seized bearing in the compressor, an overcharged refrigeration system.. kinda difficult to narrow it down without knowing specific symptoms.
engine compartment fuse box...magnetic clutch relay...t
Some indications you need to have the fan clutch replaced are an engine that overheats and too much play in the clutch fan. Another clue is if the fan blade freezes up or if the thermal spring is loose or worn out.
