they do. that's how they drown their prey.
Alligators stalk their Pray while under water. When an animal goes to that body of water the alligator will grab the animal and pull it in the water then it will death roll until the animal is dead.
Well an American Bison weighs 2200 on average so it would be very difficult for an alligator to take one. If its the smaller European Bison than the Alligator could take it in the water. How ever on land any Bison would win against an Alligator.
The alligator does the Death Roll on humans because we are intruding into their home. They think of us as enemies that need to be deleted. Therefore, they do the Death Roll on us to ensure their safety.
Clamps down on its victim so it can drown it then do the death-roll to tear off flesh it can gulp down.
Both Alligators and Crocodiles do the 'death roll'. All 23 species of Crocodilians can only open and close their mouths, and cannot move them from side-to-side like you or I, so have to do the 'death roll' in order to dismember their prey, as they can only eat their food whole.
An alligator would win because it has that "death roll" attack that brings down prey to rip a limb off.
They cannot bite off chunks and chew like we can. Instead - they pin their prey against something solid, grab and twist rapidly in a 'death-roll'. This tears of chunks of flesh which are swallowed whole without chewing.

Well, it depends on a lot of things. The alligator is dangerous, because it tends to hold on and preform a death roll. A death roll is when the alligator has it's prey in it's mouth, and drags them into the water where it spins lengthwise numerous times. This usually ends in the victim drowning. However, the shark can be just as dangerous. Since sharks have numerous teeth and massive bite force, just one bite in the wrong area could be fatal. But sharks can also be 'curious' where the shark swims up and sort of bites once, then realizes it isn't food and swims away. Meanwhile, the alligator knows what it's biting is human, and pulls you into the water, refusing to let go. So, as I said before, it all depends.i would say the shark because it swims faster and longer distance so it would be harder to get away from and it can kill you in one bite, wile you can be attacked and bit by and alligator and still live.or are you asking of an other animal not an alligator or shark????
The theme of "Alligator" is that there is always life and death situation.
Alligators bight there predator or emerge in the water.
