Yes, but it's not nearly as easy as some people believe. You must be married for a minimum of four years, be subject to frequent scheduled and unsceduled check-ups from INS and file a great deal of paperwork. Yes you can, depending on the situation. If you are having leagal issues (committed some crime and are fighting deportation) you might not be able to. If you are getting married for conventional reasons, be aware that you will both be throughly questioned seperately about each other. They get both families and even friends involved as well and they can show up unannounced to check out your living arrangements (evidence of a shared bedroom etc.). There are also extremely harsh penalties for fraud marriages. Also, while you will be able to stay in the US, I think you have to be married 3 or more years for citizenship.
A person will not automatically become a US citizen as soon as soon as an illegal alien marries a citizen. The illegal alien will have to file for a VISA with the INS.
If the alien entered illegally and did not have an I-601 approved, then the alien will always be subject to deportation
'Illegal alien citizen' is an oxymoron.
Jail for the citizen, deportation for the illegal alien.
The resident would need to wait until becoming a US citizen until filing for residency for the illegal alien spouse.
I believe the spousal support decision by the court in the divorce decree would take precedence here .

It is wrong for a citizen to knowingly marry an illegal alien. Get advice from an Immigration lawyer.
They're still an illegal immigrant. Mariiage alone does not grant US citizenship to an illegal alien. The formal process of citizenship must still be completed.
That legal alien will have status of US citizen. Bad answer. The alien must apply and QUALIFY foe citizenship. Ther are several disqualifiers.
No, his mother was a US citizen, he is a US citizen.
No Marrage, or even having an American child makes no difference. This is a common assumption by americans- they think that if an illegal marries a citizen it gives them the right to be here, The truth is that it makes no difference whatsoever
If they are an adult their status is still the same, they are an illegal alien.
Yes, an American citizen can marry an illegal alien in America. The illegal alien can file for a Visa after marrying an American at the INS office.
Not without becoming a legal alien. Which usually requires returning to their home country and applying for a marriage visa.
Unfortunately, an illegal alien can not become an US citizen if they have been deported before. If they have a felony, they can't become a US citizen either.
get the illegal to sign up for citizenship
I think it is a federal crime to offer services to an illegal alien, not sure if that bill passed or not...
