In the beginning f the story he is originally going to see Juliet's cousin, but throughout the party he falls for Juliet believing that this time it truly was love. So, to really answer the question the answer would be yes.
He doesn't. He notices that she is pretty fresh-looking for a corpse, but does not make the connection which would lead him to conclude that she might not actually be dead. He is so determined on his course of self-annihilation that he does not think about what he sees.
