I honestly dont know BUT they have a SERIAL number. Soo they can be identified as collateral for a loan and traced as stolen. Might be hard to find a serial number quietly to repo the rught notor.
Boats can be repossessed in Florida if the serial number (hull number) is listed as collateral on the loan documents. HOWEVER - If the motor and trailer serial numbers are not listed as collateral in the loan documents, those items might not be considered as collateralized.
If your car was paid off, then why was it repoed? Or if you mean you paid it off after it was repoed, then if the loan company accepted your money, then they have to give you the car and title back. I would call them and get it back or your money back.
Either party ON THE TITLE is entitled to possession, but someone will HAVE to make payments or it will be repoed.
Read your sales contract.
IF his name is on the TITLE and you want it OFF the title, you get him to sign. Otherwise, he can drive it tooooo.
In Florida, all you need is a car and a lender. If you can find someone to give you the money, than you are all set. Of course there are big risks in title loans since if you miss a payment then you will lose the title and lose your car.
turning over the title is NOT the only way to record a lien on your car. IF the lender did it correctly, YES, it can be repoed.

Florida law requires a qualified title examiner. This can be either an attorney, or a licensed title agent.

Most titles I have signed had instructions on the back. Call your local DMV to be sure you get it right the first time.
