As always I would suggest you do some of the footwork yourself insofar as research.

In New Jersey, once they obtain the judgment against an individual they then go after the debtors wages. Once the judgment is paid in full, it can be marked satisfied and filed with the courts. The judgment (here in jersey) is entered, which starts the ball rolling towards garnishing an individuals wages.

Once it's paid off, the attorney can file a Warrant to Satisfy Judgment, and they should remove the lien. At least this is my understanding of it.

Once it's paid, make sure to get a copy of the filed documents stating that the judgment was paid and that it's free and clear. If you were to buy a house later they do a judgment search and you'll have to prove that it was paid before closing.
