No. However, cats in general seem to enjoy the thrill of the hunt, and "tame" water in his water bowl isn't as exciting as "wild" water, in pools, puddles, and wherever rainwater collects.
Buy a dog. A mean one.
Yes, the acid content in a pool is very low compared for instance with orange juice. and cats and dogs have been drinking out of pools for years without any particularly bad effects.

Most domestic cats do not enjoy being dunked in the water for a few reasons. One, cats are originally desert animals, so the water may feel unnatural to them. Second, some cats may only not like water when forced into it, they could be perfectly fine when voluntarily going in water. However, not all house cats dislike water. in fact, some breeds like the Turkish Van quite enjoy taking a swim in a bathtub or pool.
Turkish Van cats like water, so not all cats hate water.
Death
Simply put any pool can be a salt water pool, even an above ground pool.
I'm in the pool service business and maintain both salt water and traditional pools in the Las Vegas Valley. While there are not many wild animals in the city, I have not noticed any difference in the number of "urban" critters (i.e. birds, bugs, dogs, cats, squirrels, etc) visiting my salt water pools versus my traditional pools. A: a salt water pool are one and the same. The only difference is that the chlorine is made in the pool the other is that the chlorine is added by hand - - - manually.
Well, as you know, Dog is "Mans BEST friend" so it probably relates to why women are addicted to cats. But there are some men who like cats and not dogs. Kinda confusing. But I think that women like cats so much because they can relate better, you know, cats are slender, and don't make a lot of nose, they don't eat much, and are pretty much happy with anything!Hope I could help!
Chlorinated
