Yes. Many formulas will include cells that are empty.
Empty cells are ignored completely when calculating an average in Excel. If a cell contains a zero, then it is included in the calculation of the average because zero is a number and it is relevant to include it. If you want to exclude zero values in the calculation, then you could use the AVERAGEIF and set it to only include values that are above zero.
The formula bar.
A dependent is a cell that a formula depends on. The cells mentioned in a formula are its dependents.
If you want to use Excel to print an empty grid, then what you need to do is put borders around cells. Select the cells you want and go to the Format menu and pick Cells and then Border and then you can specify what borders you need. If there is nothing in those cells then you will get your empty grid.
In effect a cell in Excel is a box where either text, number or formula can be placed.
range finder
The simplest way is to use the max function. If you put the numbers into A1, A2 and A3, then the formula, in an empty cell would be: =MAX(A1:A3) This will go through the 3 cells and display the largest number. If you want to do it for more cells, you get the formula to look at more cells.
Double-click on the cell that contains a formula and look for what other cells are outlined. Those are the cells that are referenced by the formula.
excel sums the cells in the column
Range finder. Double clicking on the formula activates the range finder and you can see what cells are in the formula. This can help you see if the correct cells are in the formula.
In Excel, Counta is used to Count the number of cells that are not empty and the values within the list of arguments.
You use the MIN function. All you need to know is the cells that the marks are in. Then in an empty cell you would use the MIN function to get the lowest mark of the set. Say your marks were in the cells from B2 to B15, then your formula would be: =MIN(B2:B15)
