There are experimental results showing that the flyash can be used up to 30 % as a cement replacement material. Some up to 80 %

flyash has certain properties and it can be used some percent to the concrete mix as a admixture..

Proper trial mix and test shall be carried out for required strength and durability..

What type of material is reinforced concrete?

Concrete is composed of cement and other cementitious materials such as fly ash and slag cement, coarse aggregate made of crushed stone, fine aggregate such as sand, water, and chemical admixtures. In reinforced concrete, steel is introduced in to the concrete. In plain concrete, no steel reinforcement is introduced. Generally tensile and compressive strength is taken by reinforced concrete and only compressive strength is taken by plain concrete

What is green concrete and why it is called so what is its benefits?

as the name suggests, green concrete is the concrete which is environment friendly and uses the waste content as fly ash, husk ash, micro silicates.it is very good replacement of OPC( ordinary portland cement) as it is high fire resistant, corrosion resistant and having high strength and causes CO2 reductio in environment.

Why is fly ash used in construction?

As pozzolan greatly improves the strength and durability of concrete, the use of ash is a key factor in their preservation and add to the concrete's final strength and increase its chemical resistance and durability. It can also increase workability of cement while reducing water demand. The replacement of Portland cement with fly ash also reduces the greenhouse gas foot print of concrete, as the production of one ton of Portland cement produces approximately one ton of CO2. Since the worldwide production of Portland cement is expected to reach nearly 2 billion tons by 2010, replacement of 30% of this amount by fly ash could dramatically reduce global carbon emissions.

What does Fly Ash do to the strength of concrete?

Increases the strength of concrete. It fill the pores in concrete thus strength is increases. It is fine particle hence bonding capacity increases thus strength is increases.

What is the difference in geopolymer concrete mix design from mix design of ordinary portland cement?

the main difference is we will not at all use the ordinary port land cement in the geo polymer concrete mix simply we will use fly ash as a binder material and a chemicals such as sodium silicate and sodium hydroxide are used

How did the early roman use volcanic ash?

They took ash from Mount Vesuvius and mixed it with wet lime to make a kind of concrete that was also used for constructing the Colosseum in Rome, Italy. The way the Colosseum is still holding up is because they used this kind of material to make this concrete.

What is volcanic ash used for and why?

it is used for concrete because it dry into a hard substance and when mixed with the right substances, can dry under water

How did they make cement in the ancient times?

Cement or concrete was actually made very much the same way as present day concrete. The Romans used an aggregate which could be of rock, broke tiles, or brick rubble, held together with a binder of gypsum or line. The very best concrete had a volcanic ash or "pit sand" as part of the ingredients.Cement or concrete was actually made very much the same way as present day concrete. How did the ash from Mount Vesuvius protect the city of Pompeii?

After the ash settled it rained, setting the ash as hard as concrete, making it impenetrable. This is what kept the town protected for 2000 years.

What can be made out of coal?

Coal ash is a waste product of coal-fired power plants but it can also be used to produce concrete and other products for the construction industry

What is fly ash how can you earn wealth from it?

Fly ash is a common term for the final product of coal after combustion. The white ash has properties similar to portlan cement. Since portlan cement is a comon binder in concrete it has a multitude of construction applications. The way you can earn wealth from Fly ash is to sell the ash too the concrete market. Fly ash is rate based of of it's composition though and it's composition is based off of the product combusted to produce it. Hope this helps and yes it is harmful to the enviroment...i think :)

What is an example of ash in a sentence?

The noun 'ash' is a singular, common, concrete noun; a word for a thing.Example sentences:Baseball bats are made of ash because it is a very hard wood.Take care when you clean the fireplace that you don't get ash on the carpet. There was little left to rescue in the ashes of the house.

Why ash is used in cement?

When ash is used in cement it is called pozzolanic cement.Use of ash reduces heat generation in cement.Ash is used as a cement replacement material.
