Common pet gerbils are the Mongolian gerbil. Since they live in Mongolia, they are semi-desert animals. They don't see pools of water often. I have never seen one swim or drown, but from what I've seen they definitely don't like it but can do their best at swimming. They will try to get out as soon as possible. Do NOT put a gerbil in a pool of water. It would be quite mean.

Gerbils will NOT swim they will drown. They are native to the desert and they don't know how to swim.
yes they can
gerbils cant swim in water, because they are not adapted to, and you can put them in water only if it gets the very bottom of their feet wet, no further than their feet.
Well, it's actually spelled gerbils not girblis. Gerbils eat like seed mixes and small cut up fruits and vegetables which for the seed mixes, you can get at a pet store. I don't know if gerbils can swim or not, but I would suggest that you don't try. you wouldn't want to hurt your pet!

Yes they love this, I bath my gerbil and cat together Only if you never want it to learn to swim.
No, they suckle their young and have hair all over there bodies. THey can't even swim. they also don't lay eggs in water ot have wet skin.
It would be better if they didn't, they can't swim and you don't need to bathe them. They clean themselves. NO! You shouldn't get your gerbils wet. You should bathe them in chinchilla sand Not chinchilla dust.
Gerbils are an animal and can not be "invented".
Other gerbils.
Male gerbils can be neutered, but it is not recomended. Female gerbils should not be spayed. In general male gerbils should not be neutered unless there is a good reason for it.
Yes, mice are smaller than gerbils, but I think gerbils are the right size.
