Yes, you can still apply for a Pell Grant if you have a criminal conviction. Eligibility for a Pell Grant is based on financial need and educational goals, not criminal history. However, there are certain drug-related convictions that can affect eligibility for federal student aid. It is best to consult with the financial aid office at your chosen college or university for specific guidance.
The only possible to bar to receiving federal financial aid is if you were convicted of a felony drug charge (possession or sales) WHILE receiving financial aid. Any other felonies, or any drug felonies that did not occur while you were receiving financial aid will not prevent you from receiving federal financial aid. If you were convicted of a drug felony while previously receiving federal financial aid, then you must have completed a drug rehabilitation program in order to restore your eligibility.
Only if one has a felony drug conviction may they not qualify for student loans. Otherwise, with good credit or a cosigner you can still qualify. If you want to know more, go here: http://www.financialaidfinder.com/financial-aid/seeking-financial-aid/student-loans/
If you have been convicted of a drug-related felony, then you are unable to receive aid for 2 years after the conviction; after that, you are eligible again. You may be permanently denied financial aid if you have been convicted 2 times for selling, and 3 times for possession. Do not be afraid to apply to college- the worst they can say is no! THE FOLLOWING IS FALSE. No Person with a felony drug conviction is eligible to receive Financial aid or Pell Grents. No matter when they receive that conviction.
Yes, as long it is not drug related and its not a felony warrant.
No and I can tell you this from experience. The question they would ask you is have you ever been convicted while being on aid. I dont think they ask you about anything that happened before. So just as long as you haven't been convicted while getting aid I think your fine. Check with a lawyer or a financial aid advisor from the school you plan on going to just to be sure.
Not to a state school like ASU or NYU. To a private school it might hurt your chance a lot. I had the same question and found my answer here on this fafsa link: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/faq003.htm I also called a number off of the fafsa website and they told me only a drug conviction has an affect on financial aid eligibility.
can i enter the philippines with a drug conviction
No. One of the questions on the FAFSA pertains to drug 'crimes' whether it be possession or distribution.
Not Likely as you will probably be turned down for financial aid as well.
It may be considered a terrorist conviction.
can i enter thailand with a drug conviction and served one year jail time for the crime
