Of course they can. Never had aproblem with it before. But just a tip when feeding it to them, cut it so the inside is visible... E.G Make sure the peice isn't all covered with green skin, or else they wont eat it. Once you cut it in to quarters they will smell it and eat it, even the green skin. Its because the skin is quite bitter and blocks the smell so it needs to be cut in half long ways. but once they smell it they go crazy over it.
