Actually, if you have two females it is possible for them to become friends. If you put male and female together the female is going to end up pregnant then you have to separate them or else the female will kill the male.

Can small hamsters live together?
yes they can but you have to get both at the same time and place. big ones can stay together too but once they get old you have to seperate them.

no ... Hi , If the hamsters were already together, in the same cage while purchased it should be fine to keep them in the same cage once again. When they get older, they can tend to get more agressive, so you may want to look into that also.

my two sister dwarf hamsters live together. while they do fight at least once a week, they do play with one another. just make sure they are one sex unless you plan on having them reproduce. yes, a brother and sister hamster can have 'normal' babies. my hamsters angel and daisy are from brother and sister parents.

no you don't need to buy 2 . it will be good alone. but if you would like to buy 2 .......... once they are older you should separate them in other cages because when hamsters are old or once they grow up to 4-6 weeks they fight and there fight can end up to death so i would advice you to separate them if you would like 2. and you might think that how do shops/pet shops sell or display the hamsters together in one cage well its because the hamsters are young in that case you can put them together. i wish i helped!

you shouldn't house 2 hamsters together unless they are Russian dwarfs even then they need separate sleeping and play wheels once hamsters reach sexual maturity they start to fight

never ever put syrian or dwarf hamsters cannot be put together because they fight but boys and girls do not (but they have babies obviously!) they fight and it can lead to death!!! :(so dont do it!!! Edit: Actually, male and female hamsters will also fight in between mating and the male will eat the babies or stress out the mother so much that she will eat them. Hamsters are solitary creatures by nature and so it is best to keep them apart once they aren't babies anymore.

No hamsters arent messy pets but you have to clean their cage once a week cuz it stinks

AT the most? maybe 3. If the hamsters are small maybe 4 or 5. It all depends how big/small the ball/hamsters are.

yes hamsters should have some one else but they must be the same breed and same litter but never ever put 2 Syrian hamsters together because its just plane cruel because they'll fight till the death if you really want Syrian baby's please ask your vet and a (even better than me) hamster expert all i know is that keep them together while your watching them and as soon as the females pregnant take him out! ANSWER: i have never heard so much crap about Syrian hamsters as i have on this website. i rescued a solid white (normal eyes) Syrian from a pet store where she was living in filth and couldn't even reach her water bottle. i decided she needed a friend and went to a different pet store and bought another one. neither one has ever fought not once. they are now being bred to my bf's sweet Syrian and he has been in there a week with out any problems from the girls!

i think robo hamsters because they are very active. Once they escape, its very hard to catch them.
