Although sugar cane mulch has been fed to horse in less developed tropical areas it is not really a suitable feed for equines. It is hard for them to chew and digest and contains high amounts of sugar which is not good for a horses digestive system. There are other alternatives to sugar cane mulch that would be more suitable such as straw ( not pine straw).
