To be honest it would probably be okay but 10w-40 is normally semi synthetic whereas 5w-40 is normally fully synthetic and the 5w-40 will perform better when starting the engine from cold,

As long as you change it every 10000 5w40 synth or 10W40 Semi Synthetic. TO MODERN STANDARDS.
Yes, you can mix weights but use exactly what the manufacture recommends and do not mix weights.
I would try and use 5W40 since it has lower viscocity and should reduce ware/tear/gasoline consumption, or so they say
The recommended oil for a Cayenne Turbo S would be either Mobil 1 in 10w40 or 5w40. However, it is widely known that the best oli to run is Pentosin Pentosynth 5w40.
THere is alot more to that question than what you ask. Do you want to do it on a diesel? Are both oild rated the same? Meet the minimum engine requirements? And most importantly, do you want to do this when it's warm outside, or when it's cold? Best answer from your question would be to stick with what the manufacturer says.
if you have a zetec motor than best use a 5w40 or 10w40 Castrol Magnatec seems to work for me but also Shell Helix have a 5w40 which im busy trying out.are your valves sticking???
put in 10w40 synthetic or 10w40 conventional
Any 10W40 is what i was told when car was serviced last month hope this helps Any 10W40 is what i was told when car was serviced last month hope this helps For the 1.4 petrol it's 5W40 Fully Synthetic - What engine is yours??
You can only use 10w40 if it is listed in your owners manual as an acceptable weight of oil for the engine.
I don't think I would go with 5w20. I'd probably go with 5w30 and you'll be alright.
10w40
