Can i splice HDMI cable to a plug RCA cable?
In the HDMI plug input on the back of a PS3. The PS3 has a HDMI plug to connect to the TV. The A/V Cable that comes with the PS3 allows you to use a standard TV because the other side has 3 color coded RCA plugs, but the PS3 side is HDMI. There are no other areas that can have an HDMI plug for the PS3
Use the HDMI cable if the TV has one and change the TV over to HDMI or whatever HDMI PLUG number you used if you have more than one. Some TVs also need to have settings changed to accept HDMI and the sync.
HDMI cables contain both the video and the audio signal, so you just plug it in and it should work.
If the TV does not have a HDMI plug it is still possible to connect with a plug that has RCA or S-video plugs on one side and HDMI on the other.
