Every time I take Ibuprophen I feel very down and depressed. When It all leaves my system I am fine. It is very noticeable. It is the only man made product I take. I am wondering if other people, besides my mom have had this happen? Frankie

∙ 11y agoIt seems that ibuprofen boosts mood by blocking cortisol levels. I looked all over the internet and found a few doctors who verified this conclusion. I remember feeling this effect when I took 800 mg. of Ibuprofen, but since no scientific literature suggested that this feeling of mine made any sense, I stopped thinking about it... until recently.
I am now a firm believer that Ibuprofen elevates mood and offers short term relief from anxiety. Not very many doctors will agree with this finding, but the ones that do, will actually swear by it.
