NO! the formula a woman produces in breast milk is going to be like from a cow but with alot more nutrients. you would have to use soy formula or soy milk. =( sorry to break it to you ANSWER

Sorry that is not true. The breast milk doesn't have the same bonds of proteins that cows milk does. Most people who have milk Allergies are allergic to the bonds that make up the milk which makes lactose. The chains of proteins aren't exactly the same. My daughter could take breast milk but formula, she couldn't digest the proteins. I suggest that you try hypoallergenic milk if you decide to go on formula. Ask your doctor first. Did your baby have a test to say it is intolerant? It could be colic or it could be something wrong with the formula. If you are breastfeeding, you need to do the elimination diet. Usually babies that are intolerant to milk proteins that a breast fed are having problem digesting the dairy that you have eaten. It seems to me that you are breastfeeding so try to eliminate things like chocolate, then some dairies and things that seem to make your baby fussy. To know if your baby has a milk allergy (not a true allergy because they usually outgrown it within the first year), ask your pediatrician to give them the milk allergy test.

What is lacked toss n tolerant?

I think you mean "lactose intolerant."Lactose is milk sugar. All small babies can digest lactose, but many people lose their ability to digest it as they get older--that is why they get sick from drinking milk. People who can still digest milk sugar as adults are "lactose tolerant"; people who cannot digest it are "lactose intolerant."

Is whey protein supplement recommended for people who are lactose intolerant?

If you are lactose intolerant, it is probably a good idea to avoid whey products. Whey is a byproduct of the cheese making process; while it might not contain as much lactose as milk, it can still cause stomach problems for the lactose intolerant.

Does your body still absorb protein from milk if you are lactose intolerant?

Yes.

Can being pregnant make you lactose intolerant?

Your body naturally filters out lactose but there is another bacteria that cannot be filtered out that is found in milk. and some children are allergic to it and not lactose. can you eat cheese? Cheese and milk have the same lactose but not the same bacteria potency. my daughter was breast fed and if I drank milk she got ill, there is no way she is lactose intolerant, she can eat cheeses and other dairy products. If it had been the lactose the breasts would have eliminated it. It would not have made her sick. She still can not drink milk from a jug. She can have milk that does not require refridgeration. The same thing would apply to an unborn child I would imagine, just think of your body as a filtration system.

Is there a pill for lactose intolerant people?

It is possible to add a bacteria to the milk that will digest the lactose. It is also possible to use a cottage or yogurt bacteria and change the milk to a more digestible form. You still have to treat the milk, not the person. Perhaps some day chromosome therapy will enable lactose intolerant people to enjoy milk.

Where can I find more information on lactose interolance?

Lactose is a sugar naturally found in milk and other dairy products. People with lactose intolerance lack the ability to properly digest lactose. If you are lactose intolerant you will need to carefully monitor your consumption of dairy products, while still ensuring that your body gets enough calcium from other sources. Both WebMD and the Mayo Clinic have more detailed information on what lactose intolerance is and how to live with it.

Why do you get upset stomach when you drink silk milk substitute?

Although Silk soy milk does not contain lactose, it does contain sucrose, to give it a sweet, delicious flavor. But many people are sensitive to sugar and can develop excess stomach acidity if they consume it. This is entirely different from the reaction to lactose that a lactose intolerant person has. Some people can't digest lactose. They can digest sucrose, but they may still experience excess stomach acidity, also known as heartburn.
