Of course! They are like every other living thing, requiring company, and loving attention. Unless the tortoise is very ornery and will fight with other animals, no problem! My two males get along beautifully, like they were brothers. Some say males shouldn't be together, so maybe it's because one's not breeding size yet. My little one loves attention and follows the others around. Just make sure they aren't sick or anything, and won't attack other tortoises, and leave plenty of proper food out so they won't fight over food. Also, have a large outdoor enclosure, if possible, so they can get away from each other if they want to be solitary. Mine climb the steps to get away from the other ones!
The Indonesian star tortoise and a breed similar to the leopard tortoises, I believe are endangered and illegal. So is the desert tortoise, except it's native and there are adoption programs.
I believe leopard tortoises are somewhat similar, although the coloring is much different and leopard tortoises are the 5th largest tortoises in the world. Actually, none, sorry. Desert Tortoises are all too often carriers of Mycoplasma Agassizii and other tortoise species have no built in defense against that. They are also very sensitive and susceptible to other tortoise species specific disease/parasitic issues and mixing of different species of tortoises is not recommended for just this reason. Groups specific to desert tortoises and their care, issues, etc. can be found in the related links. A leopard tortoise. :)
Leopard tortoise was created in 1828.
Well, it depends on the type of tortoise you have. If you have a sulcata or leopard tortoise they can live in your backyard if you have a lot of room for them to roam. If you have a tropical tortoise like a red-footed tortoises you would need to put him either in a big tropical cage or in a tropical backyard.
No, I don't believe they can/ be housed with tortoises
i"m awesome
Some tortoises eat other animals waste such as hyena scat because it has lots of calcium in them. and since decomposer is known as a heterotrophic animal that feeds on dead or wastes of living organisms a tortoise especially the leopard tortoise can also be known as a decomposer.
It depends on the lizard. Leopard geckos should be housed in an enclosure by themselves or with other leopard geckos. If they lick the other leopard geckos then there is nothing to worry about.
They live for about 80 years
no. they all come from the same ansester, but they all from (mostly) different countries and backgrounds
fastest--->leopard slowest--->tortoise
