Hard drive is a magnetic media that stores pieces of information. If there is strong magnetic or electric field really nearby, it can wipe it out. But it should be very, very strong.
So unless lightning hits really really close your computer, do not worry. Or unless it gets a direct hit.
But for example, it is not wise to store your USB keys next to your mobile phone, since mobiles emit electromagnetic field in order to connect to the network.
