He was a proud man who stood up for his men. He was wealthy and kind,
A satyr is a man with the legs of a goat and goats horns
A saytr, or half man half goat. They are often described as the children or servants of Dionysus, god of wine.
Poseidon was not a man, he was always a god.
No. He was a god.
Not exactly, in June of 1840, President Snow declared, "As man is, God once was; as God is, man may become." Many have interpreted this couplet to mean that God used be exactly like man and that men will one day be exactly like God. This is inconsistent with other Church teachings. The couplet simply states that God used be as man is, but it does not specify in what ways God used to be like man. Jesus used to be a man, but as the Son of God, he was never exactly like a mortal man, so its too much to say that God the Father was exactly like a man when the prophet taught that God was once as a man is.Still, this differs significantly from traditional Christianity which teaches that God has always been God.
There is an old saying: "God created man in His image, and man, being a gentleman, returned the favor". God is a pure spirit, and hence formless. Man creates images of god that satisfy man.
yes a man is made by god
Jesus! :)
God made man special of all the animals. He made man in his own image. He wanted man to be like him. What went wrong? Adam sinned.
We can tell man what to do, with our voices but it doesn't mean that they will do it. Just like man won't always do what God wants him to do because that is just the way that God created them! <3
You could say that, man made temples to God, but I don't. I like to think of it as God's house and our place to worship him.
Ludwig Feuerbach «Das Wesen des Christenthums» 1841Ludwig Feuerbach: "The Essence Of Christianity" in Relation to (Max Stirner's) "The Ego And Its Own"It is also possible that you are thinking of Voltaire's quote that "If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him".
God has all the emotions of man, like Jesus, yet, like Jesus, he is without those sinful emotions that man has, and Jesus being like God and like man is a faithful high priest to us - 15. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin. (Hebrews.4.
I think you should teach the Bible as one book. Starting in Genesis and ending in Revelations, teach the main stories. The Old Testament shows who God is, what He is like, how He has dealt with man throughout the ages. The OT also shows us who man is, what he is like and how man has turned away from a relationship with God. From the OT stories we can learn that man is separated from God and in the past God required a blood sacrifice so man could be put right with God. Then in the New Testament we can see that Jesus came as the "lamb of God" and died as a sacrifice for all. By believing this, man is put into a right relationship with God.
Just like the "standard" christian god : a big, mature, white man with a beard.
