NO, they can not cancel you for not using their preferred contractors, However, they are also not required to pay unreasonable costs for repairs.
If you've selected the most expensive contractor in town or a contractor that charges above the norm for your area then yes they could reject payment of the contractors bill if deemed unreasonable and they could decide to non-renew your policy.
