No, not at all.
Low oil pressure in itself will not cause the motor not start. Low oil pressure is a cause for concern as far as motor lubrication. Low oil pressure can cause lubrication failure and be harmful to all moving parts.
raise the vehicle. place a pan under the oil pan. remove the oil drain plug. when the oil stops draining, replace the plug. do NOT overtighten or you WILL strip out the pan. place pan under oil filter. unscrew the filter and drain the filter in the pan. make sure rubber gasket is on old filter. place thin layer of oil on new filter gasket and screw onto the filter housing. do NOT overtighten. hand tightening is plenty. lower vehicle and add oil. start up and check oil pressure. stop vehicle and check oil level.
I put one on a VM 3cyl. Diesel Generator.

Hi. To get to the oil filter, you need to jack up the car and unscrew the plastic cover underneath the rear engine of the MR2. The oil filter is located in the middle-rear section under the vehicle. Usually black cylinder shaped. You will need an oil filter wrench. Also, have a pan ready cause when you get it out of there, it will spray oil out. Peace, Mike
Raise and support vehicle Put a pan under the oil pan of the vehicle Remove the oil pan plug at the rear or side of the oil pan Let oil run out Remove and discard the oil filter coat gasket of new oil filter with oil and install - tighten only to 3/4 of a turn after contact with housing Replace oil pan plug Fill veicle with oil - usually 4-5 qts. Check oil level Start vehicle and look for leaks Lower vehicle shut off Re-check oil level
The engine oil filter is under the vehicle, on the passenger side. If you slide under the vehicle, you can't miss it, it's right in front of the oil pan.
I am having the same issue, but more violent. Oil sprays out. Replace filter, add new oil, start car, filter seal breaks and proceeds to spray all the oil out again. What would cause that much presure?
That filter is generally for Chrysler products.
