Yes parents play an important role in the upbringing of their child but they in no way "rule" their child's life. The decision of whom to be in a relationship with is at the discretion of the child itself. Yes you can listen them out and ponder over their suggestion but your life is your life to be lived your way.

I would seriously consider if this is really the way I wish to spend the rest of my life. Then after due consideration I would make a decision and act upon it. IMO the alternatives are either to move on or stay. I may or may not discus the situation with the bf and parents depending on what kind of people they are.
