If you only want part of a worksheet to be saved, then copy the section you would like to save, open a new workbook, paste the section into a worksheet, and save the new file.
Every file (word, PPT, excel etc) have two part Header and data part. if you insert any garbage value in the hexadecimal code of any these two parts file get corrupted. use WinHex (software) to get hexadecimal code of any file and delete some values from it.
