The police can easily check calls that have been made to the police department. Each call is saved in a database and will remain available to the police to review. When calling also keep in mind that your address will appear on the dispatchers screen, so if for some reason you phone cuts off, they can quickly dispatch a police unit to your house to make sure that everything is OK. Cell phones can also give out the general area of where the call came from, so if calling on a cell phone, attempt to give as much info as you can before hanging up so they don't search a general area when if given the right info, they can come directly to you or the emergency.
they are used to share information so other cops will know such as 911 phone calls so they can check them out
depending on which phone you have
You can get a copy of any previously issued bill (which usually itemises calls) by contacting your service provider. They may charge a fee for old bills.

You can report nuisance phone calls in two different ways. You can report them to the police, especially if they are dangerous in any way. You can also call the phone company and report them.
look at recent calls or try notebook on a cell phone. redial or press the green button for recent calls or just check out the phone bill.
Your first place to complain would be the phone company. If you are getting harassing calls, there is a code you can enter after the call. After you have 3 such calls, you can get the phone company to give you something to take to the police. If you mean telemarketer calls, then you could either complain to whoever is commissioning the calls (if they come from a 3rd party), or get your phone number changed.
Yes phone books are public , but phone records..are not.Phone records would be calls in and out from specific phone numbers. The police have access to that information.
If you want to know how many calls the Cranston police get per day then you should ask the Cranston police and anyways I doubt that they get the same amount of phone calls everyday. So instead of asking this question and putting it on ask.com you should be asking the Cranston police this question and not the general public
Start with your local police and/or your local phone company.
