If you're stupid they can. Seriously though, you do not want a rattlesnake. They are illegal as pets first of all, and even if they are venomoid (which is excruciating to the snake and a cruel practice that is rarely done legally), they are high maintenance for even an experienced snake keeper (experienced meaning 10 years plus).
