Nothing will completely block all UV light and stop you from tanning. An SPF will simply delay the amount of time it takes for you to receive MED's (minimal erythemal dosage). So in theory, a SPF 30 vs an SPF 8 will allow you to spend more time in the sun and delay the tanning process(by minimizing the penetration of UV light)

∙ 12y agoFor the most part no, but it does depend on the tanner and skin. Everyone skin is different, if you tan easily thats no problem. But I always reccomend to people who will use the beds or spray tan to completely be exfoliated and skin prepared. The better/cleaner you skin is the better color will soak in. After you build a base though, im sure the self tanner will look still good.
