I'm not sure what you use trust points for. Trust points are awarded by other users. They are usually awarded to recognize a good job when answering a question, or other participation on the site.
Trust points are used by other members to gauge how trusted the person is by his/her piers on the site. If you see an answer written by somebody with many trust points, then that gives you confidence that many other members liked how the member has contributed to the site, so far. Kind of like on eBay where you see somebody with a lot of positive feedback.

They are a physical representation of how trust worthy your answers are. Or how accurate your information is. The right answer will sometimes reward you with a trust point.

How can somebody have more Trust Points than contributions on WikiAnswers?
All it depends on is how many people look at the answer in all of your Q:'s that you answerd and if they think that they trust it they might give you a trust point. For example if a person answers a Q: then there are like 100 people looking at that Q: and they trust you you might get like 100 Trust Points from each person that trusted you.
How can you give or get trust points?
You can give a trust point on a question page by clicking 'recommend contributor' beside their username and current number of trust points. As well, you can give trust points on a user's bio page on the right side of the screen, under 'message user'. The best way to receive more trust points is by writing many quality answers.

It is very informative with the right people and people with trust points. But, try not to fully trust people with no accounts.

Can you subtract Trust Points?Currently, no. You can only add Trust Points by clicking to recommend someone. You cannot vote against someone. This is something we may add in the future but for right now we want to keep things simple and see how it goes.
How do you find out how many trust points you have?
You go to your profile if you're a member of the site and look for the trust points. For the classic profile, it's on the top-mid-right. And for the newer profiles it's right in the middle where it also states how many contributions you have.
How do you see your points on WikiAnswers?
If you mean your contributions or trust points, in the blue sidebar on the left, click "My profile," and to the right you will see your "stats."
