Yes!!! Most definately.
Yes, and an overcharged AC can cause devastating damage to the AC system. This is why you should have a certified shop perform this operation.
It might be overcharged. Or you might have contaminants in the system like air or acid.
It shakes because it is overcharged. Needs some pressure released.
Usually a blockage in the system. Could also be overcharged, or have air in the system.
If an AC light is blinking on a 1991 Toyota Camry it may indicate that a belt is slipping. The AC light may also blink indicating that the system has been overcharged.
Bleed off some freon until you have the right numbers. This should be done by a qualified ac mechanic with equipment to reclaim the freon.
If it was done on a cooler day it might be overcharged.
you can press the pressure release valve until you have evacuated the refrigerant sufficient enough so that it won't be overcharged.
Is it just the compressor, or do other parts of the system rattle as well? If so, then you have either an overcharged system, or too much oil in the system.
You seem to have overcharged the AC in the process of charging it.... I did a similar thing with my van.. Basically when the AC is overcharged.. the pressure in the evaporator remains vary high... ie the R-134a remains a liquid... and does not become a gas and cool... and hence there is no cooling... You could take it to a repair shop where you would need to remove all the gas and refill again...
Several times can cause this........ 1. The AC compressor is bad. 2. You have a restriction in the system. 3. You may have overcharged the a/c system. 4. You may have added too much oil back into the system.
Please take it to a licensed facility for evacuation and recharging. You could do damage to your system if run that way and damage to the atmosphere if you release the gas manually.
